I present our one owner first gen Scion TC, purchased by my wife in late 2004, the first year they sold them.
It has been a really solid reliable car for us. I’m kind of sad to see the brand die to be honest.

y’know, I always thought the tC was actually pretty good looking. I feel it deserved better suspension and more exciting engines.

Yeah, we have. I has been my daily driver for the past 7 of those years. When we first started having kids she wanted an SUV so I sold my car at the time.
It really is a pretty good DD with some nice amenities over any other econobox. I particularly like the glass roof/sun roof combo.
We have put nearly 165k miles on it and the only major work it has had is some new shocks a few years ago. I feel like the damn thing will probably run forever.
To be honest I don’t mind driving it but I hope to sell it this sometime this year so I can finally buy “my” car.

The original tC looks really nice in that light blue. I kind of wanted one of these back when they were new.

Yeah I agree, although I don’t like what they did to the newer models. The whole flat-topped roof and weird shapped center exhaust don't work for me.

2ZZ and a 6 speed would be awesome.
A slushbox can be fun, too!

The first gen Scions were all good looking. They’ve lost it on the succeeding generations*.

Here was mine just before I sold it. A 2006 that I bought in August 2005 as a birthday present to myself. Flint Gray, manual and the reason I went for an ‘06 over the Red RS tC from ‘05, the iPod controller stereo.
Pictured here with 125,000 miles on it. I sold it to a girl in PA in Aug 2013. I tinted the rear windows and hatch when my first son was born. Transported two kids in it daily for a few years and sold it when the third child was on his way.
No trickery in the picture, that’s what a clay-bar, wax and seal looks like on Flint paint.
When my middle child was still in an infant carrier, I went to a store and parked in the “families with infants” parking. When I came out I had a letter under my wiper telling me I shouldn’t park in those spaces and how important those spaces are for people who need them. I guess the tint made the car seats difficult to see, haha. Although it’s probably more that in NJ the first thing you do after finding out you’re pregnant with your first child is run to the nearest dealership and buy a midsize 3-row SUV.
I’d buy one again if I didn’t occasionally need three across seating in the back.

Well if you’re going to drive anything that long it better be a Toyota/Scion.
